Years 5 and 6 have been learning about Hinduism in RE this half term. We have looked at the Hindu belief that there are four spiritual pathways to achieve moksha. We have also learnt about the celebration of Janmashtami – a festival which takes place annually to celebrate the earthly appearance of the Hindu god Krishna. This showed different ways that Hindus express devotion towards a deity. The children have made clay models of Krishna and decorated them using colours from traditional Hindu stories.
