Yrs 5 & 6 took part in a Greek Day this week, summoning all their Spartan characteristics to come to school in togas in sub-zero temperatures! Some of the costumes were most impressive.
They spent the day trying out various Greek activities - acting, art, learning the Greek alphabet, story-telling, Olympics and cooking. They made courgette fritters (kolokithokeftedes), halloumi skewers (souvlaki) with tzatziki and Greek salad and then held a Greek banquet at the end of the day. Thank you to the TAs and parents who made this day possible.
Many thanks to our parent helpers - Mrs Edge, Ms Reilly, Ms Hutchison and Mrs Howe - your assistance with the cooking was hugely appreciated!
